"Le Mans" (directed by Lee H. Katzin, 1971), attempted to portray the excitement, the speed and the sound of the famous french competition of racing cars, with its sequences of slow motion crashes both beautiful and horrific to watch. The surreal quality of the movie, where speed and concentration result in all other aspects of "real life" being forgotten has been transformed by Gilles & Vincent Turin into a human crash, eyes closed. Steve McQueen said it all: "...racing is life, the rest is just waiting."
